AT&T customers who own the Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy Note 4 will be pleased to know that the US-based carrier has just kicked off the rollout of the long-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
While many users have already received the update in the past couple of weeks, AT&T customers seem to have been skipped from the initial rollout.
Still, this was to be expected since the update took longer to be released at carriers and US operators aren't known for the quickness with which they deliver these updates.
The good news is AT&T has just confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 owners will now be able to capture the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The update is now pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take a while until it reaches all devices.
According to AT&T, the update contains lots of improvements and new features, including the option to make searches for songs, photos and apps from one Android unit available across all of your Android devices.
Both updates add some new carrier-related features
In addition, a new User Interface look and feel with more fluid motions has been added, along with Priority mode that only allows certain notifications to get through.
Furthermore, there are new battery saving features and remaining time left to charge or deplete indicators, along with Smart Lock to secure phone or tablet by pairing it with a trusted device like a wearable or car.
Last but not least, most frequently used settings will now be available with just two swipes down from the top screen.
Moving on to Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, AT&T confirmed that beside the usual new features and improvements, the upgrade will also add Find My Mobile and Reactivation lock. Some stability improvements have been included too.
Both Lollipop updates are available to download via Wi-Fi network, so make sure you check for its availability by heading to Settings, About device, Software update, Check for updates.
